Topher Maka is a Pinoy-American painter. Maka lives in Bernal Heights, San Francisco and works from his studio space in Hunter's Point Shipyard. Most of his work uses water-based mediums like acrylic and watercolors. Maka's art intends to impose social mutation and conversation. Wrapping many of his delicate themes with illustrative leaves create a lush bedding that disguise the critical message(s).
In addition to painting on canvas and murals, Topher has been a curator for non-profit gallery, the AS Art Gallery at San Francisco State University, works as an active graphic designer in digital and print-based medias. Maka frequently collaborates with local SF & Bay-Area artists groups, and organizations.
