Unravel

(APAture 2017)

“Examining our stories, hxstories, narratives, beliefs - what are the interconnected threads we wish to investigate and untangle? What is there to discover when we unravel?

APAture is a multidisciplinary arts festival featuring the work of emerging Asian Pacific American (APA) artists local to the San Francisco Bay Area. Coinciding with Kearny Street Workshop's 45th Anniversary, this year's festival will showcase talent from artists unraveling their stories in film, literature, music, performance, book arts, and visual arts. From September 30 to October 28, over 60 artists will present their work to approximately 1,000 festival-goers across multiple dates and venues around the South of Market area.”

The Kearny Street Workshop's APAture festival in San Francisco is a vibrant celebration of Asian Pacific American (APA) arts and culture, showcasing the diverse talents of emerging APA artists from various disciplines. This annual event, held in the heart of San Francisco, serves as a platform for these artists to express their voices and share their stories with the community. With each iteration, such as APAture 2019: Declare and APAture 2017: Unravel, the festival explores different themes and narratives, inviting attendees to engage with thought-provoking artworks, performances, and installations. Through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and discussions, APAture fosters connections and dialogue within the APA community and beyond, contributing to the rich cultural tapestry of San Francisco.

In 2017, Topher spearheaded the branding and identity design, collaborating closely with the committee to establish themes and produce materials for promotion.
